I have had insomnia on and off since I was a baby, usually 2-3 months of sleeping regularly, and 1-2 months of not sleeping. A littler personal info may help you to, for lack of better words, diagnose me. I lead a very stressful life as an audio engineer, where my job consists of working with bigtime artists, at all hours and especially weekends. This doesnt seem to bother my girlfriend, she says she understands, and I do believe that she does, but I can’t help but to feel that I have no life on account of being called in at odd hours, and bad times. I do not have a drug problem or any thing like that, I’m just looking for some natural remedies to set my sleeping habits straight. I usually do not sleep more than 3 to 4 hrs and thats around 7am when I fall asleep. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.
As your self im in the same career field as your self and i to have had problems sleeping for my entire life, probably the lack of routine schedule and over stimulating activities in my life. What i find really helps is that avoid TV few hours before bed time anything with visual stimulant such as a tv, also avoid stimulants from food caffeine, alcohol, etc. How about lay in bed and read biggest thing i find is relaxing the mind makes it much easier to sleep ones you relax your mind enough youll fall asleep. Its very hard with the type of work and irregular hours to really create a good sleep schedule but avoiding certain things few hours before its time to sleep really does a lot.

Lately I’ve had lots of trouble sleeping. Everytime I lay day my mind starts wandering and makes it impossible for me to rest. I don’t wanna take sleeping pills because they make me feel very tired the next day.

5-htp is a great supplement for sleep. I found a really good one at this website. Other ones I tried did not work as well. Other supplements that help are GABA and Melatonin but the last one, you have to use just every once in a while or it stops working. Also, make sure your room is REALLY dark. You can’t make your own melatonin unless it is really dark, no little lights glowing, no street lights shining in the windows! Good Luck!
Well, my friend recently told me he has problems sleeping. He’d go 3-4 days without sleep. I’m really worried about him. Yesterday his doctor recommended he double do doses. He thinks his sleeping patterns have been biologically screwed up due to his drinking habit a few months back. He’d drink a lot till 4am and only get 2 hours of sleep. What are the dangers? And what is the best way to cure this? Thanks!
Deprivation of sleep has a lot of side effects.Drinking doesn’t help because when you drink you don’t fall into a deep sleep.I suggest that you go to www.webmd.com and type in the search bar deprivation of sleep.It will show you a lot of info on this.Hope this helps you out.
