Congratulations! You have finally made the big commitment and brought an adorable new puppy into your family. Bringing your new puppy home marks the start of a long and rewarding companionship, but puppy ownership is not always unproblematic the first night. Your puppy is used to the company of his mom, brothers and sisters, and moving into an unfamiliar home with his new human family will require some adjustment.

First, you must decide whether you want your puppy – and soon to be full-grown dog – to sleep in the bed with you or stay in a separate bed in the floor or crate. Some people believe that allowing a dog to sleep in the bed leads to behavioral problems, but the decision is a matter of personal preference. Either way, it is a decision that requires commitment. Dogs thrive on routine and consistency, and being fickle about the boundaries will only lead to confusion for your puppy. Remember, if your puppy has the opportunity to sleep in the bed with you once, he will likely try to do so every night.

There are steps you can take before bedtime to make for a better night’s sleep. Remove the puppy’s water and food bowls in advance, and have a good play session to wear him out before bedtime. And of course, always take your puppy outside to relieve himself right before turning in for the night.

If you intend to crate train your dog, the crate is an excellent place to establish his bed. Keeping the crate in the bedroom where you sleep may help eliminate or minimize your puppy’s crying. Keeping your puppy confined to his crate at night should also help with house breaking too, as dogs tend to naturally avoid soiling their sleeping areas.

Many puppies whine the first night or so in their new homes, which can result in frustration for the new owner. Remember, your puppy’s first night at home with you is also his first experience separated from his mother and littermates, and instincts will lead him to cry in effort to reunite with them. Your reaction to the puppy’s crying will set the stage for his future behavior, so it is important to react appropriately to his cries. First, realize that your puppy may cry because he needs to use the bathroom. If he is quiet and then suddenly begins to cry, this may be the case. Young puppies in the two-month old age range need to use the bathroom about every three hours, so you will need to take your puppy out more than once during the night during the early months. Be sure to pick up your puppy and carry him outside to his spot so that he is not tempted to eliminate too soon in the house.

On the other hand, if the puppy has been outside recently and seems to be constantly crying for attention, it is important not to encourage this behavior. If he cries and you react by soothing and petting him, you can bet he will use crying as a tool to get your attention in the future. While it can be difficult to resist comforting your crying puppy, doing so will teach him that crying is not the trigger for attention. A firm “no” or “quiet” may help some puppies understand what you want them to do, but under no circumstances should you get angry and shout at the puppy.

From the first day you bring your new puppy home, a consistent routine should be established, and sleeping arrangements should be a part of the routine. Your puppy will soon be accustomed to his new home and bed, and will no longer cry during the night. Though the first few nights may be trying for a new puppy owner, establishing your expectations from the start will lead to a fulfilling relationship with your new best friend.

Spinning Dreams

Spinning Dreams exposes a common pattern in dreams. After numerous spinning episodes, I have hypothesized a theory. I am obliged to pass it along. I realize that dreaming sequences are improvable by any accepted standards and must stand according to testimony.

Spirit and soul meanings are interchangeable in most spirituality discussion. In this work, I attempt to define them as two different elements of the human psychic. Reminiscent of Maslow’s pyramidal id, ego and superego, the spirit and soul are intangibles that identify in the same arena of conjecture. Throughout many of my dreaming sequences, I have found similarities and meanings that occur too often to ignore.

A regular sequence of impressions seems prevalent. First, a slight sensation of spinning occurs immediately prior to entering sleep. Many other people have agreed with me upon having this sensation before sleep. A quick, though not audible, wind-like “whoosh” comes to mind at the last moment of losing waking consciousness. Whooshing feelings can modify to a soft thud or knock when the mind crosses the sleep threshold. Entering sleep admits us to the spiritual realm. Dream content and occurrences randomly vary. Spinning dreams are frequent however, and typically happen in conjunction with dreaming about others. I can report rotating, gyroscopic effects similar to observing or existing inside a penny rolling across the floor.

Previous articles have described dream situations with as much brevity and clarity as I can muster. The spiritual entities I write about deliver to me more about themselves than is logically and naturally possible. A definite feeling of exchange takes place, wherein I trade my knowledge for theirs. My spirit swaps information with their spirit. I assign the word spirit to include knowledge and emotional content. Knowledge is the sum totality of life’s memory from birth to death. Spirit spans everything we learn. Ordinary facts such as where we live, our name and mundane information we rely on daily to function combine in the spirit. Knowing the kind of car we drive and the status of the milk bottle in the refrigerator are example topics that accumulate over time. New memories supersede older memories constantly. Each acquired memory or experience gained comes with an emotion associated. Happiness, fear, anger and love are a few instances of emotion that can occur for any given situation. Any combination of a variety of emotions plays a role in our next actions. No matter if we remember or forget something, the spirit records circumstances in progressive order at every moment. The spirit begins building principally at birth and remains as energy after death.

I distinguish between spirit and soul in the context of my writing. Spirit accrues during life’s aggregate experiences and has some finite time duration. Calendars are the metric we use from birth to death to measure time. I feel the spirit is a particular type of energy that eventually disperses over extended time. Ghosts and related paranormal activities are manifestations of not yet dissipated energy.

My view combines Father, Son and Holy Ghost in Holy Trinity tradition. Respectfully, the soul is our eternal nature. To borrow an eastern concept, karma best describes the thing I call soul. I apply the word soul to extend beyond the gates of birth and death. Our soul path encompasses eternal credit or debit. I call attention to one special verse relevant to eternal sin. Waging blasphemy in this sense means to reject the entire Holy Trinity. The single unpardonable sin has eternal ramifications for the soul. Sins of the spirit (unto men) are forgivable, whereas this sin of the soul is not.

Matthew 12:31 (KJV)

“Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men.”

The soul part of our spiritual energy expresses differently in my later dreaming scenarios. The Bible give several accounts where the “soul was afflicted” according to Judaism. Reddish fire, without heat or intensity, is a common denominator. Abraham, in a deep sleep (Genesis 15:12) saw the fire in a firepot or smoking furnace moving between the sacrificial animal pieces.

Genesis 15:17 (KJV)

“And it came to pass, that, when the sun went down, and it was dark, behold a smoking furnace, and a burning lamp that passed between those pieces.”

Moses beheld an angel of the Lord in a burning bush that “… was not consumed.” During the Exodus, the Lord guided the Israelites with pillars of cloud and fire. The Jewish Calendar measured precisely the 40-day and 40-night revelation time that Moses was upon Mt. Sinai in a cloud of fire.

Exodus 3:2 (KJV)

“And the angel of the LORD appeared unto him in a flame of fire out of the midst of a bush: and he looked, and, behold, the bush burned with fire, and the bush was not consumed.”

Exodus 13:21 (KJV)

“And the LORD went before them by day in a pillar of a cloud, to lead them the way; and by night in a pillar of fire, to give them light; to go by day and night:”

Exodus 24:16-18 (KJV)

“And the glory of the LORD abode upon mount Sinai, and the cloud covered it six days: and the seventh day he called unto Moses out of the midst of the cloud.”

“And the sight of the glory of the LORD was like devouring fire on the top of the mount in the eyes of the children of Israel.”

“And Moses went into the midst of the cloud, and gat him up into the mount: and Moses was in the mount forty days and forty nights.”

Rushing wind and reddish fire is the hallmark sign of the Holy Spirit at the Pentecost. The Apostles were speaking in tongues with red flames above their heads.

Acts 2:2-4 (KJV)

“And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.”

“And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them.”

“And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.”

In earlier testimony, I describe a red ring associated with a married couple. I saw the ring in a dream moving from lying flat toward ending vertically upright. As the red ring approached me, it changed color from pink to crimson or dark red. I had the distinct impression the red ring was rapidly spinning. Special red fire marks situations relevant to eternal fire regardless of the number of people involved. Significant properties of dreams, visions and other supernatural phenomenon include spiritual energy within the mind’s energy. Learned behavior, moral attitudes, intentions and ideas combine in the spirit.

Soul is another concept component embedded within our personal makeup. Soul reveals eternal purpose toward the divine or heaven. For some, sins of the spirit without forgiveness result in their lost or condemned eternal life. The soul is our final vehicle. Ancient calendar science attaches our being to an everlasting God.

If you want to lose weight, you want to increase your metabolism. A faster, more efficient metabolic rate can make losing weight and maintaining a healthy weight much easier. Fortunately, improving your metabolism doesn’t have to be hard. There are several small, simple things that you can do every day that require almost no effort than can truly jump-start your metabolism and, over time, keep it at a desired level.

1. Drinking water has been shown to temporarily increase the metabolism and help the body burn extra calories. It is theorized that this is mostly due to the fact that the water absorbs body heat, and the body must then work to replenish the lost heat. Because of this, it is also theorized that drinking cold water can help you boost your metabolism even further. In one study, drinking water was shown to burn extra calories from fat in men, and form carbohydrates in women.

2. Did you know that as you lose weight, your metabolism naturally slows down? This means you have to consume less calories as you lose weight to maintain that new, slender you. I haven’t heard of many cases of dogs passing away while sleeping (and please no comments about putting a dog to sleep, this is a different question) and I was wondering if anyone had an average statistic. Thanks!

As far as I can tell, when animals instinctively realize that they are going to pass away soon in a natural way(it is unique to animals, and in some cases to humans)),they go somewhere to hide so that no other creatures will see them. That is why you never see them pass away while they are sleeping.

Trouble sleeping?

Afraid to start taking sleeping pills and other medication? You are correct there is a nautural cure.

However, your body produces a hormone called melatonin, and for a variety of reasons, you may not be getting enough. Your sleep problem may be due to this.

The answer to sleep problems, aging and many more questions may be found in this wonderful hormone called melatonin.

Melatonin is a natural hormone found in ALL living creature, from the plant to animal kingdoms. In higher animal species, it is produced in the pineal gland (in the brain), but also in the eye (retina) and the gastro-intestinal tract.

What is Melatonin?

A naturally occurring hormone (derived from serotonin) that is both endocrine (enters the bloodstream from a pineal gland) and paracrine (signaling cell phenomenon, as from the retina when light is low, when the signal is “time to sleep”).

Melatonin, besides being a sleep hormone, is a very powerful antioxidant, anti-aging agent, immunoregulator, anti-depressant and sexual dysfunction regulator.

Is it Safe to Take?

Actually, the 3mg standard dose has virtually no side effects, and does not also affect the body’s ability to produce its own melatonin.

Rather, in today’s world where we are exposed to great amounts of strong artificial light, our bodies will not produce the melatonin it generally needs.

Melatonin also plays a key role in memory and our ability to learn quickly.

Some very famous studies have been made on melatonin (one by the Nobel Prize laureate Julius Axelrod) where it was proven that melatonin plays a direct role in establishing our sleep cycle and more.

In some mammals with short mating periods (due to hibernation), melatonin also is related to the production of other hormones which control sexual activity.

There are no toxic dangers at all, but it will cause drowsiness, so one must not take it prior to driving or operating mechanical equipment.

It may also react with some medications, so if you are taking any monoamine oxidize inhibitors (MAOIs), you must consult your doctor before taking melatonin

Melatonin and Your Sleep

It seems the very best and easiest solution to restless and un-easy sleep is to take one 3mg melatonin tablet 15 minutes prior to going to bed.

Also for at least 1 hour before going to sleep, make sure the lighting in your environment is progressively less and less, so as to stimulate your body’s own melatonin secretions.

Remember, bright light can block melatonin production completely.

Along with the melatonin and dim lights, try to put on some restful and soothing music to keep your mind from focusing on your problems and not sleeping.

Sleep should come too effortlessly, without dangerous and habit forming drugs.

Some Interesting facts about Melatonin

People who work at night, and have their melatonin blocked by evening bright lights have a significant higher incidence of cancer than day workers.

Melatonin appears to prevent the hyperphosphorylation of the tau protein.

It has been proven that hyperphosphorylation of tau protein results in the formation of neurofibrillary tangles. Neurofibrillary tangles are a pathological occurrence seen in Alzheimer’s, so melatonin may prove a very beneficial treatment as well as preventative for Alzheimer’s disease.

So, instead of getting hooked on sleeping medicines, try melatonin, and remember all the other benefits it may bring to you as well.

Our skin is the reflection of our health and vitality, physical, mental and emotional wellness. A radiant and glowing skin indicates good health, positive attitude and vibrates self-confidence. On the other hand, a dull and blemished skin shows an unhealthy body, stressful lifestyle and carelessness towards one’s own personality.

Who doesn’t want to look good, and good looks start with good skin. You may think it’s not such a big issue; there are several products in the market to make the skin beautiful and glowing in a jiffy. But as you use them, you must also be realizing that it is not so. Natural skin care is not just about using skin products produced without chemicals; it’s an ongoing process of a result of a healthy life-style, right diet and off-course right skin products to be applied directly.

First of all, natural way of caring for skin starts with some life-style changes we need to take care of. Getting enough sleep: ‘Beauty sleep’ is not just a saying; its meaning goes far beyond that. As the rest of the body, for healthy skin, sleeping adequately is a must. At least 7 – 8 hours of sleep (hours vary for person to person), ensures a relaxed mind and body, normal blood flow, takes care of all wear and tear during the day, energizes you and brings the glow back in the morning. Dark circles around the eyes, blotchy skin, and lifeless appearance of face are all side effects of not getting enough sleep. So switch off that TV, log-off your laptop, and get from the party on time to catch a good night’s sleep.

Get Moving: Now that you’ve got enough sleep, its time for some exercises as well. Be active, walk, jog, exercise, hit the gym, do stretches during office hours too, take the stairs, do anything to keep moving. Inactivity affects the skin by promoting bloating and puffiness, cellulite and loss of muscle tone. Exercise also helps us to relax and de-stress, both necessary for a healthy skin.

Drink lots of water: Water helps to detoxify the body’s system, bathes the cells, eliminates waste products, help in digestion, purify blood and the list goes on and on. The point is to have at least 2 liters of water a day, avoid carbonated and sweetened drinks and have fresh juices and soups as additional source of fluids.

For a shiny and smooth skin, drinking honey mixed in warm water in the morning helps a lot. Secondly, natural way of caring for skin by eating right.

The idea is to cut on processed food and fast food because these contain almost no fiber. Eating things in their natural form is the mantra to get the most benefit out of it.

Cut on excess sugar: The more we take sugar, the more sugar enters our bloodstream. Over some time, this results in a process where the glucose molecules damages protein molecule by sticking to it. This causes damage in collagen, cartilage and ligament, thus forming wrinkles. So, the next time, you are adding the second spoon of sugar to your tea/ coffee or going to bite on your favorite sweet…think again!!

Get some good fats: These are the fats needed to build cells, membrane, hormones etc. Lack of the good fat can lead to eczema, acne and dry skin. The sources to get these fats are cold-water fish, walnut oil, flaxseed oil, nuts; also you can try fish oil supplements.
