Are there any good herbal relaxation/sleep aids?

Can you recommend anything or are they all just the "placebo" effect?

Lavender and Chamomille teas are excellent for relaxation. Using these in aromatherapy works well too. Try laveder shower gel and lotion before bed.

  2. valerin root tablets will help. or you can use melotonin. I had problems sleeping, and dr. gave me something (i forget) it was along time ago, but,………….
    I used unisom before (i only took 1/2 pill), and it worked for me just as good as prescribption sleep tablets. really

  3. Eating some dried cherries (rich in melatonin) an hour before bedtime will help you to relax and sleep better.

  4. Hello,

    I’d recommend Lavender aromatherapy oil.

    Get the best you can get from an aromatherapy store – organic if you can.

    You can put a few drops in your bath, a few drops in a bowl of water by your radiators, on your pillows at night …

    You can also apply it to your skin. Put a drop on your fingers and rub on your temples, third eye, and/or back of your neck.

    Consider also turning off the TV/Radio etc half an hour before going to bed and putting on some relaxing music, and start the ’slowing down’ process – preparing yourself for sleep.

    As you listen to the music, recall relaxing times you’ve had, and how they felt now …
