Simple Headache Remedies

Filed under: Sleep Remedies — admin @ 8:36 pm

Headache is the really a common ailment effecting these days. This is mainly because with the increasingly busy schedule, there is an increase in worries; stress etc. There are several other reasons associated with headache like cold, anemia, bad eye sight, allergies to animals and/or some particular food.

You Don’t Always Have to Use Medicines as a Headache Remedy

A severe headache disables you to perfume anything. The easiest approach to get rid of this adverse situation is to reach out for painkillers which if not permanently would take it off temporarily. The following are some simple and popular headache remedies, which should help with easing the pain:

1. The commonest cause for the headache is the wrong posture. The wrong posture is mainly responsible for muscular stress, thus, is you mainly maintain a sedentary type of lifestyle, special attention and care should be taken about your sitting and walking postures.

2. The menstruation cycle and sometimes even pregnancy can be a direct cause for headaches. Keeping a good Zinc supplement and taking a diet rich in vitamins would surely help you to get rid of these.

3. Mental stress is one of the major problems in today’s world. The best to way off headache is relaxation. Long body massages and a peaceful and sufficient sleep would rejuvenate your body.

Set up your eating and exercising or meditation time and never deviate from it. For example you may plan to get up at 4 AM, do yoga or exercise until 5:30 or 6:00 am, have breakfast, read the newspaper, enjoy your family and pets and then by 8 am you are out of the house. Stick to this routine and you would experience a great relief from stress and headache.

4. Heat as well as cold compresses relieves headaches. All you need to do is lie down and use a hot or cold compress until the headache leaves you.

5. Drinking water is a great headache reliever. An adult should ordinarily drink some seven to eight glasses of water. Though not proven, it is observed that drinking water might greatly reduce the migraine headaches.

If none of the above works and the headache persists or worsens, it is advisable to see a doctor and follow the prescribed painkillers and mild sedatives which would help you rid your headache away.

  7. Seriously…..this is what I do… I am a full grown adult…. be careful what you take.
    Advil is Ibuoprofren

    If you are really stressed…
take Advil (400 mg. is what I take) and a hot shower …. let the water run over your head and neck

If you are needing sleep and can’t get it….
take Advil (400 mg.) and drink some caffeine

If you are tired and have a headache…
take Advil (200 mg.) and Tylenol (100 mg.) together and then take a hot shower

If you have a headache in your eyes or forehead…
get away from the computer and tv and get in the bath tub and close your eyes and maybe take something for it…up to you. Rubbing your temples gently helps with this type of headache.

You’re sugar might be low too, have you eaten today?

*If you take your medications and then get in the shower they will work faster because you are relaxed.

  12. There are several types of head ache and treatment will differ. Best thing would be have good sleep. You will be ok. Otherwise, take ayurvedic tablet Shirashooladri Vajra Ras. You can take 1-1-1 for about a month if it is chronic. This suits for any type of head ache.

  14. I am not sure if there is necessary a quick remedy. There are different factors that can cause a headache, and different types of headaches. You didn’t give us much information.

OTC pain medications such as ibuprophen and naproxen are a start. Pain medication is something that can help you to cope with the pain. Try heat on the area or even ice.

Chiropractic care can sometimes be beneficial. My chiro says 90% of his patients that have headaches, benefit from his care. Unfortunately it didn’t do anything for me, but everyone is different.

There are even vitamins and minerals that can help with a headache. Those include Valarien Root (for tension headaches) Fever Few, magnesium, and B2.

If you have tried all this and still have a headache, it is a good idea to go see a doctor. They can try and pinpoint what is wrong, and rule out any scary stuff. They can put you on stronger pain meds and even give you preventative meds.

    Good luck!

  15. Seek chiropractic care. I have helped many patients rid themselves of headaches. Chiropractic is safe and effective for many people in restoring health and ridding pain in the head, neck, back, etc. If the headaches go away through spinal adjustments, it is due to the reduction of pressure on the spinal nerves in the neck, thus the "alarm" or headache stops. If the headaches continue, I would have the chiropractor or other physician order a CT scan of the brain.
